Vermejo 2016

Jeffrey turned 30 in May and my father in law Rich turned 60 in February so we decided to take a trip that they would love to celebrate. We booked a fishing trip to Vermejo, New Mexico. Little did the boys know it would become one of our favorite places too. We stayed in the most beautiful house they just redid, fished a ton, had lots of yummy food and made sweet memories. We cannot wait to go back next May!

Thankful for birthdays,

MJ

Lake Tahoe

So we had an unexpected surprise come up this May in the form of a vacation. Which for Jeffrey and I is a real treat because we love nothing more than to go explore a new place together. He had to go to Lake Tahoe for work and so we decided to go early so we could take a little weekend trip together. It was even more charming than I had imagined and I cannot wait to go back. We got in late Friday night and went straight to the lake then a local place called Bite to eat american tapas. Saturday we got up bright and early we spent the morning in Truckee where we ate breakfast and explored their downtown. We made our way to Tahoe City for lunch and more exploration and then finally to Emerald Bay for a picnic by the lake. It was a beautiful day and the lake is more than I can describe. Sunday we rented bikes and went on a long bike ride in Incline Village where we were staying then headed to the lake for another picnic and spent the afternoon poolside reading and relaxing. Monday I had to leave, but not before we hit up IV coffee for the third time on our trip. Jeffrey stayed for work and I headed home. We are definitely looking for a way to get back that way.

Thankful for weekends away,

MJ

Chicago 2016

Crazy to think that it had been almost 3 years since we went to Chicago to visit the Blandford crew! They have been making lots of trips to TEXAS so we haven't gone there. It was so fun to get up there to spend time with them. It was a little (ALOT) cold, but we had the best time exploring the city. Already looking forward to the next trip back!

Thankful for family & weekend trips,

MJ

GCYL SKI

To kick of Christmas break we got to load some busses with our favorite high school friends and GCYL to head to the mountains. We stayed at Crooked Creek Ranch and took busses in every day to ski at Winter Park. It was my second year to take girls and it was a BLAST. Being in the snow sure did kick off the Christmas season in such a special way!

Thankful for GCYL, the snow and weeks of adventure,

MJ

Cheers to 4 Years

November 19 we celebrated 4 years of being married. I still cannot believe it has been 4 years already. I am so thankful to Jesus for the gift of marriage and for the life Jeffrey and I have together. Jeffrey and I love to celebrate all things and our anniversary was no exception. We decided to do what we love best and take a trip. We did a little weekend road trip to Waco and then to Fredricksburg. Friday we spent it in Waco and ate at the first place we had a date then called it an early night because we were leaving bright and early Saturday. We got to Enchanted Rock right when it opened and spent the morning hiking and hanging out. We then headed to Fredricksburg to the Herb Farm to check in for the remainder of the weekend. We laughed, ate, relaxed, talked about the last year and set goals for the year to come. We had the best time away and it was a great way to celebrate 4 years together! Cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for year 5!

"When I look in his eyes, I don't see perfection. I don't see a love story that would necessarily be something people would watch on a big screen and dream about. I see someone who will fight for me and protect me and love me in spite of all the ways I am still a wreck. I see home. Wherever he is. That's my home." --Melanie Shankle (The Antelope in the Living Room)

Thankful for 4 years,

MJ
