House Details

Wow! I cannot believe we have almost been in our house a year. As I look around I am amazed at all we have done to it one year. ( I am going to do a before and after post of the house at the year mark..if I can get that organized) With that being said there is still so much I have in store for this house, lots of plans ahead. I cannot wait to see this house transform. It is really starting to feel like our home and I love giving it our touch with Jeffrey (yes he is super into making our house a warm place). My goal continues to be that our house would be a place that people feel welcomed and relaxed.  Here are a few details we have been working on over the break!

Thankful for details,

Happy New Year

We had a great New Years eve with sweet friends we will have forever. We met these friends while we were at Baylor and they mean so much to the both us. I cannot wait for our parties to get bigger as our families grow. We went to dinner at Whiskey Cake in Plano (so delicious) then back to the Miller's to play games and talk about the next year. We had to leave early this year because Jeffrey got a last minute call to attend the Fiesta Bowl to watch Baylor play it their first EVER BCS bowl game! He left early on the 1st and met his dad out there. Even though the outcome was not so great the boys had a great time. I met up with the same sweet friends from the night before to cheer on our Bears! Even though we lost we are ALWAYS proud to be BAYLOR BEARS!

Thankful for a NEW YEAR,

MJ

Santa Fe 2013

This year for Christmas with the Joneses we decided to head out of town to Santa Fe, New Mexico. I went for the first time two years ago with Jeffrey and his family. I completely fell in love with the city and could easily see why his family had spent many vacations there. It really is a magical place. It is a great place to eat yummy food, explore the town, people watch, look at art, be in the mountains, shop and just spend some quality time with your family. I look forward to many more trips to Santa Fe and cannot wait to bring our kids there. Some of the highlights of the trip include walking the square, playing cards in the La Fonda lobby, shopping town, eating at lots of yummy new restaurants and spending time together. We did not think it would be possible to top our last trip, but I can confidently say we did. We love to travel with Rich & Cathey! It wouldn't be a blog post with our pictures so here we go!

Thankful for Christmas Vacations & Fun Family Time,

Chrismas EVE EVE with the Heflins

Last year Annie and Nathan were engaged at Christmas so they were still doing separate Christmas celebrations. We decided to start a tradition that we could continue with our families for many years. So that is where CHRISTMAS EVE EVE started. We decided we would always have a date and sleepover. I was so excited for this year because it is their first married CHRISTMAS and we all get to be together. We decided to include all our families and go to lunch and the Nutcracker in the afternoon. It was something Annie and I grew up dancing in and it was fun to show our boys what it was all about. We then went to dinner (hibachi) with Annie & Nathan and off to look at lights. We came home for our annual Christmas PJ photo shoot. This  is something Annie and I have done for our whole life and the boys have joined right in! We then spent the evening hanging out and just being together. It was such a fun night and I look forward to many more!

Thankful for traditions,

MJ
