Happy 1st Anniversary to US!

I cannot believe we have been married a year! It was honestly the sweetest year ever! I have loved getting to come home to Jeffrey every night. I love getting to do life with him. We have grown so much over the past year and I am excited to see how God continues to work in us. For our anniversary I created a beer paring dinner. It was so much fun! We watched our wedding videos and since the first anniversary is "paper themed" we journaled about our first year together. This is a tradition we will continue to do every year. We also got a journal for all of our trips each year and it was so fun to go back and remember all those. Now it seems crazy to document all of this, but I cannot wait to look back and see all we have been through and experienced together. Happy Anniversary Jeffrey Jones I love you more everyday!

Thankful to call Jeffrey my husband,

Catching UP

Happy December! Wow it has been a VERY long time since I blogged. I want to say its because I have been super busy, which I have, but that is not really the reason. I kind of made time for other things instead of this. Sad I know! Anyways a lot has been going on and I am hoping that December is well documented on here. Before I move on lets do a quick recap:

October was filled with pumpking carving parties, costume parties, community group fun, the fair, supper club, starting a new side job (Arbonne), and last but not least an incredible trip to Mexico to celebrate our first wedding anniversary ( I realize our anniversary is in November). Anyways as always I will let my pictures do the talking :) Enjoy!

Ahh October you were good!!

November literally FLEW by! It was filled with pinterest parties, Arbonne parties, celebrating my best friends birthday with a surprise, Christmas card picture session with our sweet friend Savannah (Check out her blog here:Savannah Garcia ), a visit from our sweet newphew Max, a week in Lubbock with the Jones family (pics to come soon), a day at the park and arboretum with Cary, and starting another side job (taking pictures). More to come on that along with what I have started with :) I also took time to do 30 days of thanks! I am honestly overwhelmed when I consider all the things I have to be thankful for, but mostly I am thankful I have a God that shows me Grace! Last but certainly not least Jeffrey and I celebrated a year of marriage! Oh what a fun year! (post on that too)

A few posts to look forward to: photography business, first anniversary and christmas decorations! I really hope everyone had a great fall season! Looking forward to what the winter brings!

It's Fall!!

But it sure does NOT feel like it outside. Either way I am getting in total fall mode.

  • I put all (the very few) decorations I have out. I made a list of a few other small decor items I want to get..just waiting for the right sale.

  • I had a pumpkin spice frappacino and a pumpkin spice cream muffin.
  • I got new leggings, long sleeve shirts and a sweater ON SALE @ J Crew.
  • I found a recipe for yummy bran muffins to eat all week long for breakfast.
    • See the breakfast recipe here Muffins
  • I got my fall table stuff semi ready. I found cute plates and napkins to use for small group pumpkin waffle theme party this week (post about this later)
  • Found a yummy apple cider punch mix to make for our small group this week
  • Painted my nails a dark color to get ready for the week and found some new colors I want to invest in.. particularly the OPI matte colors

Despite the hot temperatures I am ready for fall: football, pumpkins, dark nail polish, boots, leggings, sweaters, chili, cooler temps, and all the fun that comes with this season. I am also praying that God changes my heart this fall in a way I have not experienced. I pray I become a better wife to Jeffrey. I pray that we really take the time to enjoy each other this fall and the time we get to spend together. I am praying I become more like Jesus has called me to be. I am praying that I love more and continue to deepen the relationships I am blessed with. With that being said HAPPY FALL YALL!!!

Thankful for new seasons,

Day Date

I know I have been saying that my summer is over many times before.. but for real this time FRIDAY was my last day of summer! Jeffrey had been planning on taking a half a day so that we could spend the afternoon together just the two of us. He decided to take the entire day off which was such a nice surprise because it had been a long time since we had gone on an entire day date. As we continue on this journey of marriage we both want to make sure we are making it a priority to make time for each other, so Friday we did just that. We woke up bright and early to get coffee at my favorite coffee shop in Dallas, Pearl Cup. We then headed over the Farmers Market where we had a blast walking by all the stands. We had lunch at the Pecan Lodge (I highly recommend this) it is only open Thursday-Sunday I think from 11 until the food runs out. It was incredible barbecue!!! We then went on a hunt for Blue Sky Soda. I had been dying to try one. We had to buy them in a six pack and after tasting them I do not regret that at all! They are delicious. We then headed back to Grapevine to see Batman (I also recommend this one) it was soo good! We ended our day with dinner in Arlington with our besties James & Krista. It really was incredible day.

I loved getting to spend the day with my best friend! I love you Jeffrey! My prayer is that I continue to be the wife GOD called me to be and that I always put you before myself. Thank you for loving me unconditionally!

"Do nothing our of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves." --Philippians 2:3

Thankful for marriage,

Weekend Recap

What  a whirl wind of  a weekend. It was officially my last weekend of Summer, starting tomorrow I am back full time at work. It really has been a great summer. It was crazy busy at times, but oh so fun. It was our first summer as a married couple and it was INCREDIBLE! We give God all the glory for what he has done with us in our marriage this past 9 months. Anyways this weekend started off early Friday for me.. so here we go..

Friday: I woke up and made breakfast for my sweet friend Elaine. Texas shaped pancakes to be exact. We then headed off to shop for Ben & Jen's couple shower. We got so much cute stuff. Friday night we had a date with John Ryman a sweet little baby from our community group. We had so much fun keeping him while his parents had a date night. We cannot wait until the next time.

Saturday: We did lots of grocery shopping then got ready for our last wedding of the summer. We went with James and Krista and had a blast as usual. The wedding was gorgeous. Congratulations Fraley & Ty!

Sunday: We went to church and then I headed over the The Garcia's so that Amanda, Savannah and I could set up for The Davis' baby shower. It was such a sweet celebration of their precious baby girl! Congrats! Tonight Jeffrey and I are enjoying a night in complete with steaks, veggies, a glass of wine and maybe a RED BOX!

We had such a fun weekend. We are so thankful to have so many friends to celebrate with!

Thankful for weekends,
