The Little Things

After all this construction and redoing of things in our home, I have come to the realization that is really is the little things that make a house into OUR home. I have slowly but surely started to add some little touches around the house. I am going alot slower than I would like because of this thing called a BUDGET..but it is also making it fun to continue to shop around and look for the perfect touch/perfect sale. Anyways here are a few pictures of some of the little things around our house...

Community Group

Can I just say I LOVE our church and our church family. Two years ago when Jeffrey and I went to try out Compass we knew instantly it was where God wanted us. We met Patrick Garcia who in our first conversation invited us to join a community group with him and his wife Savannah. This was exactly what Jeffrey and I were looking for. Little did we know they would grow to be very special friends to us. Our group started out small, 6 people to be exact. We had such sweet times studying God's word, praying together and walking through life with each other. Sadly everyone from our original group has now moved out of Texas (We miss yall), but our group has seen so much growth. We ended up multiplying into two groups. Yes we had enough people to fill two small groups of young adults in the Grapevine area. Such a blessing! Our group has grown even more this year. When I say I am thankful it does not begin to do justice how blessed I feel to be a member at Compass and of our community group. I am thankful for Wednesday nights with them. I am thankful for group texts. I am thankful for new friendships. I am thankful for neighbors. I am thankful for fun memories. I am thankful to have a group of young adults to encourage me. I am thankful to have someone to study God's word with. I am thankful for people to help me in my walk with Christ. I am thankful for there prayers.  I am thankful we can share the good and the bad. I am thankful we can do life. I am overwhelmingly thankful for this community God has made us a part of.

And of course it would not be a post without some fun pictures... and I swear the boys our in the group too, I just do not have many pictures with them!

Catch Up

Well here is a little catch up on our life..

We Celebrated Cinco De Mayo.. if you know me well it is one of my favorite holidays because I LOVE FIESTA's!!! 

I got this awesome camera from my sweet co-worker for graduating.. seriously obsessed! 

My mom, Annie and I had a girls night out to dinner and WICKED.. Happy Late Birthday Annie! It was seriously fun! 

LAST but certainly NOT least... I GRADUATED with my masters in counseling.. Finally!!! It was a long long journey, but I did it!! I could not have done it without Jeffrey, my family and friends. There were many times I did not think I could finish because I felt so overwhelmed, but God continued to give me the confidence. I am so thankful I did it! What an incredible feeling and experience!

Our first year of YOUNG  LIFE is over.. sort of.. we have camp in July, but club for the year is done. It has been an incredible journey and I am so thankful God opened this door for Jeffrey and I. It has changed us for the better. I want to be closer to Jesus so that I can help bring high schoolers closer to him too. I want to be a light in this world!  What a great first year, looking forward to many more! & of course the BEST week of my life in Colorado!! Here are some pics from recent events..

Showers

We have been in full swing of Annie's wedding showers. We had a really fun FIESTA themed couples shower in April, our school had a very sweet after school shower and The Heflin's had a sweet Longview shower. It has been so fun being at all of these and seeing all the people in their life that love and support them. We are officially done with showers and they were tremendously blessed with a ton of gifts! I am so excited for the soon to be Heflin's! Next up Bachelorette PARTY!!!! (post to come)
